Literature Text

The weeks, the months, the years
I’ve been out here, waiting
For you to let me in
I can’t see you, but I see traces
Hurried shadows, whispers of light
And I hear the unheard
But it’s been so long
And I don’t know how much I can take

The hours, the days
You know that I know
You know what I can see
You want to take that away
You want to sever our ties
You talked to them, you lied to them
You think I don’t know, but I do
You think you know everything

The minutes
I can see
You tried to blind me, but I can see
I can hear, better than I ever have
And not only that, I can remember
Why you kept me locked inside
And now that I’m free
I see what you mean
A poem I wrote inspired by I See What You Mean. Picture by:instagram.com/damajm?modal=tru…
